I’ve been a designer for years, working in and around NYC my whole career. Collaborating with my fellow designers, editors, illustrators and photographers is just one part of the job that I love.
For three years, I left the design business and worked as an esthetician in a spa in NYC. People always tell me I shouldn't mention that when I'm interviewing for a design position. I disagree. Going back to school and working in a new field taught me way too much to mention here, and it was great to break out of my comfort zone and meet new people.
In 2014, I made the decision to return to design full time. Since then, I have been a Design & Production Manager at the Archdiocese of New York, where I produce a 4/c, bi-weekly newspaper from start to finish, handing the print side of things as well as working on our website and digital edition. I also collaborate with our advertising account execs on their sales and marketing materials, including designing their (first-ever!) digital media kit.
